Educated St.Mary's Wantage, Godalming Sixth Form College. Qualified as a Montessori teacher in 1979 and taught at two London nursery schools between 1979 and 1987. Lives near Chepstow with husband and three children (two are former pupils of HMSG). Governor of The Dell Primary School 1997-1998. Parent volunteer with The Dell Primary School. Volunteer worker for Oxfam. Appointed 2005.
