OUTSTANDING A LEVEL RESULTS AT HABERDASHERS' MONMOUTH SCHOOLS 2009

Monmouth School and Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls celebrated the achievements of pupils after another year of exceptional A Level results with 80.2% A and B grades at Monmouth School and 72.7% A and B grades at HMSG.  The overall pass rate was 100% at both schools.

Both schools were delighted with this year’s results which highlighted the dedication and hard work of both pupils and teachers.

 OUTSTANDING GCSE RESULTS AT THE HABERDASHERS’ MONMOUTH SCHOOLS

This year’s GCSE results at both Monmouth School and Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls have been outstanding, with a 99.63% pass rate (A* to C grade) at HMSG and 98% pass rate at Monmouth School.  The percentage of A*/A grades at HMSG is an impressive 73.19%, the best results ever, and 63.8% at Monmouth School. 

92.04% of the grades at HMSG were A* to B.  Monmouth School recorded their best results ever, with 90.7% of grades A* to B.

7 pupils at HMSG and 1 pupil at Monmouth School all gained at least 10 A* GCSEs, with 1 HMSG pupil gaining an impressive 12 A* grades.  In addition, 20 girls and 17 boys achieved 10 A*/A grades. 

The outstanding results rounded off a perfect summer for pupils, with many of the boys taking part in a rugby tour to Canada, and a number of girls spending a month in Tanzania as part of the ‘World Challenge’ programme.

Mrs Helen Davy, Headmistress of HMSG said, “These outstanding results are a reflection of the girls’ and teachers’ effort and dedication.  The percentage of A*/A grades is 73.19%, our best results ever. In this my first year as Headmistress at Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls, I am enormously proud of all the girls and what they have achieved.”

Dr Steven Connors, Headmaster of Monmouth School said, “This year’s results are statistically the best ever, with 90.7% A*-B grades, and I would like to congratulate the boys for their hard work.  With the guidance of their dedicated teachers, the boys have responded magnificently to the challenge of these examinations.”
