Public examinations will continue regardless of the weather, see note below.
A message concerning Public Exams
In the event that the bad weather continues, the school will endeavour to run the public exams commencing on Monday 11th January for boarders and any day pupils who are able to get in. As reported on the exam board websites, the timing of public exams is fixed in advance and cannot be moved by schools for any reason. Any candidate who arrives up to 10.00am for a morning exam and 2.30pm for an afternoon exam on the day scheduled can sit the paper but after that time they may sit the exam, but the board is unlikely to accept the work. There is no provision by the boards of Special Consideration or substitution of marks for candidates who miss exams in the January session as they have a further opportunity to sit any exam in the following June session.
